Knowles is looking for a Buyer to work in conjunction with the Senior Buyer, in a role which has great career prospects due to a rapid expansion of the business.
The candiate should have tangible experience in construction and/or merchant buying.
The role is based primarily in our head office in Marylebone NW1, but is a mobile role and will require visits to site, most of which are nearby HQ.
Strong negotiation skills and a desire to progress are a must.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Take and process material orders from site contacts
• Place orders with suppliers and raise purchase orders as required
• Track delivery dates and resolve any material sourcing issues
• Keep site teams informed of any delays or order complications
• Plan and manage personal workload while supporting team members
• Carry out additional administrative duties as needed
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Understanding of building materials or a trade background
(experience in builders’ merchants is ideal)
• Willingness to learn Sage200 software for purchase order management
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
• Proactive, hardworking, and able to work under tight deadlines
• Intermediate/Advanced MS Office skills
