PROJECT WIN | Knowles Appointed as Principal Contractor at 167 Pavilion Road

Located within the prestigious Cadogan Estate, Belgravia, Knowles has been appointed Principal Contractor on full-contract works at 167 Pavilion Road.
The elegant streets of Belgravia are lined with terraced stucco townhouses, garden squares, international embassies, and upmarket hotels, with an abundance of chic stores, galleries and designer boutiques. Pavilion Road, known as a West London food haven, with artisan suppliers as well as fine dining restaurants catering to the areas discerning local and international residents and visiting clientele, whilst retaining Chelsea’s village feel.
As a typical mews road, running parallel to Sloane Street, our project on Pavilion Road is known locally as ‘The Dutch House’ – has gained its name from the large Dutch cable built at the rear of the house. As with all properties of this type, all façade features are to be retained to ensure the iconic localised aesthetic remains.
Knowles’ scope of works on this project will include the excavation of a new 350 sq/m basement to 3.5m below ground level, which will be reinforced with steel and concrete floors added up to the first floor, above and including the roof which will be steel and timber. A new traditional lead and slate roof will be added to complete the new structure. The addition of a 25 sq/m two-storey rear extension will allow for the inclusion of a roof terrace.
