PROJECT WIN | Knowles Appointed as Principal Contractor on Phase 1 Works at Parkside, Wimbledon

Knowles is proud to announce its appointment as Principal Contractor on Phase 1 works at Parkside, Wimbledon.

Located in the historic Wimbledon Village, set amongst period buildings and open green spaces, Parkside will be a new super-prime residence due for completion in 2022.

As Principal Contractor for Phase 1 substructure works, Knowles’ scope of works will involve the excavation of the 11, 000 sq/ft basement, which, once completed will feature a large internal swimming pool, home-gym, cinema, storage and plant rooms and underground car parking, accessed via a side ramp from ground level.

Knowles’ approach to the basement excavation includes the adoption of an open dig, given that the original house was demolished. The open dig will be done in two phases – phase 1, rear basement area & phase 2, front basement area. The perimeter will then be secant piled.

Designed by Indigo Design Associates and Adam Architecture, upon completion, the property will stand as a traditionally designed, four-storey detached dwelling house, with 3 storeys at ground level plus a basement level which includes associated parking. In keeping with the local area, the external design will be traditional; constructed in red brickwork, stone detailing, tiled roof and timber windows.
