PROJECT WIN | Knowles Appointed for Works at Ladbroke Hall

Knowles is delighted to announce that we have recently been appointed as Principal Contractor on works at Ladbroke Hall, North Kensington, instructed by the prestigious Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Mayfair.
Works commenced this week, and over the next 34 weeks, the rear garden of the impressive Grade II Listed building will undergo complete shell & core works which will include the formation of a new 3500 sq/ft basement level, leaving the original building undisturbed as per requirements of planning.
Built in 1903, this Edwardian Baroque style building was the headquarters for the Sunbeam Talbot Motor Company and as such, was part of the first purpose-built car factory in Britain.
Currently, the building contains two large spaces originally used as car showrooms as well as offices and paneled directors’ suite. After undergoing restoration and conversion in more recent history the building now also provides a community arts space, a children’s television studio, café and exhibition space, a primary health care center and office accommodation.
Knowles’ subterranean works will increase the square footage of the building by 3500 sq/ft, allowing for an expansion of the galleries facilities.
