One of the classic villas on Warwick Avenue, reworked for the 21st century by SHH Architects, has hit the market at £23.5mn.

The west London-based practice has carried out a full revamp of the Grade II listed stonker behind its 19th-century façade, reconfiguring the interiors and digging out a new subterranean wellness complex.

The focus was on restoring “architectural clarity and proportion” while introducing a more contemporary layout, and the result is a home of just over 7,700 sq ft – sizeable in anyone’s book, but with the focus on flow rather than sheer volume.
