Knowles is delighted to announce our appointment as Principal Contractor for a spectacular new-build private family residence in the Hampstead Conservation Area – The Kenwood.
Located on one of Hampstead’s most desirable streets, this exceptional project draws inspiration from the rich architectural character of its prestigious surroundings. Designed by KSR Architects, the final design reflects a deep respect for the site’s heritage, blending traditional detailing with timeless elegance, inside and out. The new home echoes the essence of the original building, while embracing modern family living.
Once complete, this impressive residence will feature gracious living spaces, an expansive 2,800 sq/ft basement level for leisure facilities, and 10 luxurious bedroom suites, including a breathtaking 1,250 sq/ft principal suite.
Taking the project from concept to completion, Knowles is delivering a full package of works on this landmark private residence. Our Knowles Structures division are expertly delivered all structural elements, including contiguous and bearing piling, the installation of ground and surface water management systems, basement box excavation, and the reinforced concrete superstructure. The project will then seamlessly transition to the Knowles London division to execute Phase 2, which includes envelope works such as brickwork, window installation, and roof packages, followed by the complete interior fit-out featuring bespoke joinery, stonework, and specialist finishes.
The residence will also include a state-of-the-art gym, a luxury swimming pool, a discreetly integrated car lift, and extensive hard and soft landscaping, including a feature fountain.
Having commenced works in Autumn 2024, the project is already well underway. The major excavation works are now complete, clearing the way for the impressive basement. The top-down slab – engineered to withstand the weight of a 17-tonne fire truck – is in place, and the ground-floor slab is complete. Works have now progressed to the first-floor slab, with the rest of the reinforced concrete superstructure rapidly taking shape!
