Staying COVID-19 Secure
Like many industries, Knowles have had to adapt to ensure our sites, workforce, clients, and the general public are COVID-19 secure.
From the outset, Knowles followed the government’s guidelines. After a brief period of shut down and after critical safety works were completed, we began looking at the ways that we could work within the guidelines to keep our construction sites functional. Working collectively with our team to navigate this period, all Knowles employees were consulted and encouraged to share thoughts and ideas on measures that we as a company could effectively and efficiently implement – from the board of directors and our in-house health and safety team, to our office team and site operatives.
Following these discussions, Knowles found ways of working that allows us to remain operational, whilst also ensuring we work safely and respectfully. We also implemented additional measures that further allow us to return to site-working and continue to deliver projects for our clients on time and in budget.
Communication with the local community was of paramount importance and our project managers were on-call to provide the public with reassurance.

Some of the measures that you will see on Knowles projects include:
- Site re-induction for all, to reinforce new COVID-19 secure measures
- All operatives provided with PPE
- Branded PPE to encourage and remind all about social distancing
- No visitors on site, unless part of a client team
- Temperature checks on arrival
- Hand sanitizer stations
- Removal of all communal glasses and mugs, replaced with Knowles metal flasks and bottles (COVID-19 secure and sustainable)
