Knowles has long understood the impact our industry has on the environment. We create beautiful spaces for our clients, but our vision must extend beyond our projects, and look ahead to the future.
Complementing Knowles’ predominantly London-based project portfolio and client teams, Knowles Heritage has been in development over the past year in response to the rapid growth in the number of projects in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and the Cotswolds.
Like many industries, Knowles have had to adapt to ensure our sites, workforce, clients, and the general public are COVID-19 secure.
Adding a London basement underneath a garden is an innovative, space-saving solution when building up isn’t an option. If the footprint of your house isn’t big enough, extending the construction works into the garden can have many benefits.
I have always had a keen interest in building and architecture and having studied construction at Oxford Polytechnic in the late 1970s I set up and ran my own building business in the 1980s restoring and altering traditional buildings in Oxfordshire.
Knowles Heritage has been in the making for over a year now, born from an increase in demand for our services outside London. We noticed a gap in the market as we started works on a private country house, and the demand rapidly became apparent at a time that coincided with the demise of long-standing contractors in the area.
Renowned London construction company Knowles have today launched AUTO CAVE.
Designing a luxury basement for a busy London home provides an opportunity to add structural and aesthetic features that maximise the space available and suit the homeowner’s personality. One key design decision during this exciting process is the basement floor plan itself.
